In the Russian city of Izhevsk, an assassin killed at least eight people in a school and then allegedly killed himself. There were also numerous injuries. The background of the fact is unclear.
According to the authorities, at least nine people were killed and around 20 others injured in a gun attack in a Russian school. The act of violence took place in the city of Izhevsk in the Republic of Udmurtia, the Russian Ministry of the Interior told Telegram. The suspected shooter apparently committed suicide, and local police found his body.
“Today in Udmurtia there was a tragedy in Izhevsk at school 88. An unidentified person broke into the school and killed a guard, that’s already known,” said Governor Alexander Brechalov.
According to local authorities, several children were among the victims. A security guard was also killed. According to the Interior Ministry, the scene of the violence was school number 88 in Izhevsk.
So far there is no information about the background to the crime. In Russia there have already been multiple rampages at educational institutions with many dead and injured.
