LaLiga has filed a complaint against Paris Saint-Germain with the European Commission for receiving foreign subsidies that distort the European Union (EU) internal market, the Spanish football league announced on Saturday. LaLiga “has lodged a complaint with the European Commission to denounce the fact that the financing mechanisms of PSG generate a serious distortion of the internal market of the EU”, said the body chaired by Javier Tebas in a press release.
The body concludes by expressing its confidence that the Commission “will take the necessary measures to eliminate market distortions such as those described, which seriously harm the sports ecosystem”. At the head of LaLiga since 2013, Javier Tebas, continues to denounce a supposed “unfair competition” of PSG vis-à-vis its European neighbors.
