Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – The Hessian child and youth officer Miriam Zeleke calls for more attention for children and young people on World Children’s Day (September 20th). The issue of child poverty in particular must be addressed, for example, with basic child security, she explained on Monday in Wiesbaden together with colleagues from other federal states. In addition to Hesse, Brandenburg, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt also took part in the call.
Zeleke demanded that political decisions relating to the young generation should not be made over their heads. Supposed adult topics, such as the corona pandemic or the war in Ukraine, would also have to be discussed in an age-appropriate and understandable way.
