Gummersbach (dpa / lnw) – Five people were injured in an accident involving two motorcycles and a car near Gummersbach (Oberbergischer Kreis). The two 41 and 19-year-old motorcyclists were taken to a hospital on Sunday evening with serious injuries, the police said on Monday. The 52-year-old driver and the two passengers aged 51 and 14 were slightly injured.
According to the police, the 41-year-old encountered oncoming traffic in a right-hand bend between Gummersbach and the dam of the Aggertalsperre and collided with the car there. The 19-year-old motorcyclist was unable to dodge in time and crashed into the first motorcycle. The highway was closed while the accident was being investigated.
