Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – Saxony-Anhalt’s Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff thinks little of a possible successor to the 9-euro ticket. “I don’t see the need for such a ticket,” said the CDU politician to the news portal t-online. “80 percent of the people in our country live in rural areas, and such a ticket is of little use to them.” Haseloff pointed out the narrow financial leeway – the federal government had to say which social benefits should be canceled for this. Offering a service on a permanent basis that is very expensive and only used by a relatively small part of the population is not particularly profitable.
