Pomellen/Bad Doberan (dpa/mv) – The federal police confiscated an off-road vehicle that had just been stolen near Rostock on Autobahn 11 near Pomellen (Western Pomerania-Greifswald). As a spokesman for the federal police said on Wednesday, the officials noticed the vehicle early in the morning because of its high speed, among other things. The 21-year-old driver, who drove towards Poland, had neither papers for the 35,000 euro car nor a driver’s license.
The officials also noticed that the car was driving without an ignition key and had probably been electronically manipulated to start it. The inquiry to the owner showed that the car had only left Bad Doberan (Rostock district) during the night. However, the car already had other fake German license plates. The driver will now have to answer criminally in connection with the car theft.
