Heiligenstadt (dpa/th) – The incident involving a car that is said to have driven into a group of men in Heiligenstadt on Sunday is now different than previously assumed after extensive police investigations. As it turned out, there had been a relationship dispute between the 27-year-old man and the 32-year-old woman, as a result of which the woman stabbed the man in the car, police said on Tuesday. After the woman crashed into a house wall with the vehicle, a 35-year-old passer-by injured her on the head, which is why she had to be treated in the hospital.

According to initial reports, the investigators had assumed that the woman had driven towards a group of men, but was able to avoid them. According to the new findings, it was only a 27-year-old man who had to avoid the vehicle. It also came out that the woman did not injure the other 27-year-old outside the car.

The 32-year-old was originally investigated for attempted homicide. In consultation with the public prosecutor’s office, the police investigation is now being continued on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm. The 32-year-old and a 20-year-old passenger who were arrested at the scene on Sunday were released.
