Neubrandenburg/Schlemmin (dpa/mv) – Burglars have stolen large quantities of diesel, tools and pesticides from farms and craftsmen in eastern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. As police spokesman said on Tuesday, companies in Retzow near Malchin and Neubrandenburg and in Schlemmin (West Pomerania-Rügen) are affected. The total damage from the burglaries is estimated at 40,000 euros. September 2nd to 5th were given as the times of the crime.

Among other things, a lawn tractor, a high-pressure cleaner and around 1000 liters of diesel were stolen from a farm in Retzow. At a company in Neubrandenburg, the tanks of three vans were broken open by force and the fuel emptied, with the vehicles also being severely damaged. In Schlemmin, burglars stole several hundred liters of weed killer – also known as herbicides – worth around 30,000 euros. The police are hoping for witnesses in this context.
