Detmold (dpa / lnw) – The Detmold public prosecutor’s office is investigating an employee of the Minden-Ravensberg/Lippe municipal data center on suspicion of possession and distribution of child pornography. The spokesman for the Detmold public prosecutor’s office, chief public prosecutor Ralf Vetter, confirmed this on Monday to the German Press Agency on request.

According to Vetter, it is about the period up to January 2022. There have been searches and storage media have been confiscated from the 56-year-old. The IT specialist also worked for the district youth welfare office more than ten years ago. Since the incidents became known, the man no longer works for the district authority in East Westphalia. The “Lippische Landes-Zeitung” also reported on the case.

The suspect, who went into hiding in the meantime, was briefly arrested in early March after an arrest warrant had been issued. The arrest warrant was then suspended, explained Vetter. A decision on possible charges has not yet been made. The evaluation of the confiscated video material and the storage media is still ongoing.
