Bottrop (dpa / lnw) – During a police operation on Friday night, a woman threw a firecracker at four police officers in Bottrop. When the police officers checked a car, an initially unknown object suddenly flew towards them, which then exploded, the police said. The officers were able to jump to the side in time so that nobody was injured. On closer inspection, the item turned out to be a firecracker. The officers arrested a 39-year-old suspect from Bottrop on site.
According to initial findings, she had drunk alcohol and possibly also taken drugs. She was charged with assaulting law enforcement officials.
