Freiburg (dpa / lnw) – Two weeks after breaking his wrist, midfielder Maximilian Eggestein will return to the SC Freiburg squad. He may even be in the starting XI in the away game of Baden in the Bundesliga at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky).
The 25-year-old trained again this week, as SC coach Christian Streich reported on Thursday. “The bone is screwed, he has a splint and no pain – he can play,” explained Streich. However, it was an “open race” between him and Yannik Keitel, who replaced Eggestein against Bochum (1-0) last Friday.
