Gelsenkirchen (dpa/lnw) – Second division football club Jahn Regensburg is loaning Blendi Idrizi from Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04 for a year. Schalke announced this on Tuesday. The Kosovan national player still has a contract in Gelsenkirchen until June 2024. “At Regensburg he can gain the necessary match practice in the coming months to develop further,” said Schalke’s sporting director Rouven Schröder. Last season, Idrizi played 22 second division games for Schalke and scored one goal.

The Royal Blues had already given up a top performer in Malick Thiaw. The central defender was transferred to AC Milan on Monday for around ten million euros.
