Altenberge (dpa / lnw) – Two girls and a man were injured in a carriage accident in Altenberge (Steinfurt district) after the carriage horse ran away. According to initial findings, the animal was startled when some sheep ran in the direction of the carriage, the police said on Monday. The carriage therefore tipped on its side.
The 57-year-old coachman was seriously injured in the accident on Friday and was taken to the hospital. The girls, aged 14 and 16, suffered minor injuries. The horse was unharmed and was able to be calmed down shortly after the accident, it said.
