Huisheim (dpa / lby) – After a serious accident in the Swabian town of Huisheim (Donau-Ries), the police are looking for the fugitive and possibly injured driver. On the night of Monday, an off-road vehicle crashed head-on into a tree, the police said. The car of a leasing company made an emergency call independently via e-call and shared the coordinates of the accident site. However, when rescue workers got there, the driver was gone.
However, they found various objects in the completely destroyed wreckage, which pointed to a 43-year-old man from Poland who does not live in Germany, who could not be found hours after the accident. After finding clear traces of blood in the accident car, the police assume that the man was injured “not insignificantly” – and are asking for information from the population. The accident resulted in a total loss of around 60,000 euros to the car. The beech that the car crashed into had to be partially felled, police said.
