Leipzig (dpa / sn) – Two men racially insulted six women who wore headscarves at a tram stop in Leipzig. The 22 and 34-year-old suspects were arrested by the police on Friday evening. The younger man also insulted an officer, the police said on Sunday.
The women fled into a tram that was moving away. The perpetrators tried to follow them. However, two other men came to the women’s aid and stopped the attackers. One of the helpers sprayed tear gas. He is now being investigated on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm
