Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – In Hesse, a state subsidy for research-based companies had been approved 123 times by the middle of this year. Since the introduction of the allowance, the tax concession has totaled more than eight million euros, as the Ministry of Finance in Wiesbaden announced at the request of the SPD parliamentary group. The research allowance was introduced by the federal government in 2019. It aims to support companies investing in basic research, industrial research or experimental development.
Small and medium-sized companies in particular benefited from this, explained the Ministry of Finance. Access to the funding is easy and practical. The research allowance is offset against the company’s tax obligations.
