Kreuztal (dpa / lnw) – When there was a fire alarm in an apartment, the fire brigade in Kreuztal in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district came across a smoldering hemp plantation. The police then secured several plants in the apartment and “large amounts of marijuana and other narcotic paraphernalia,” a police statement said on Friday. Neighbors had previously reported on Thursday evening that a smoke detector in the apartment was sounding the alarm. Since nobody answered, the fire brigade had forced the door open. The police are now investigating twice: in terms of the cause of the fire and against the apartment owner because of the hemp plantation, the message said.
