Your million-dollar deal with Spotify seems to be paying off: Duchess Meghan’s new podcast is very popular with the audience. In several countries, Prince Harry’s wife climbs the chart top of the streaming service with “Archetypes”.

Just a few days ago, the premiere episode of her new podcast was released on Spotify. Now Duchess Meghan has climbed to the top of the music streaming service chart with “Archetypes”. The Duchess of Sussex ranks number one in the important markets of the USA and Great Britain as well as in Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

Spotify publishes updated charts daily. These clearly show Meghan’s top position in the countries mentioned. However, Spotify does not announce exact numbers for podcast episodes. In the US, Prince Harry’s wife has pushed the controversial podcaster Joe Rogan off the throne. Rogan has been accused in the past of playing down the corona pandemic. In April 2021, Harry and Meghan also expressed their concerns about false information on Spotify regarding the global pandemic.

The royal couple signed an $18 million, three-year exclusive podcast deal with Spotify in December 2020. In the first episode, tennis star Serena Williams was a guest at Meghan’s studio. The two powerful women talked about prejudices that successful and ambitious women are still exposed to. It was mainly about the revulsion that women face when they are called “ambitious”. “Often women are definitely put in these different boxes when we’re ambitious or when we have goals or when we achieve our goals,” the two friends agreed.

In the following episodes, Duchess Meghan would like to go into more detail about the labels that “hold back and undermine women”. She also wants to focus on terms like “diva”, “slut” or “crazy”. Next week she talks to the singer Mariah Carey. Later, celebrity women like actress Mindy Kaling and comedian Amanda Seales will also be among her guests.
