Hohnstein (dpa/sa) – An 82-year-old hiker got lost on her tour through the Schwarzbachthal and was rescued by a helicopter. According to the police, the woman met a hiking group in Hohnstein (Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district) on Tuesday morning. The 82-year-old is said to have quickly noticed that she could not keep up with the rest of the hiking group and therefore decided to continue her tour alone, the police said on Wednesday.
Around 5:30 p.m., the woman informed her husband that she had lost her way in Schwarzbachthal. The relatives of the hiker called the police at 8 p.m. The emergency services immediately began the search and were supported by a helicopter. Around 9 p.m., the emergency services were able to locate the woman stuck in the mud away from any path. She was taken to her son.
