Munich (dpa/lby) – In numerous districts in southern Bavaria, warnings of flooding are being issued on Friday and Saturday given the high levels of precipitation expected. Rivers such as the Loisach, Ammer and Isar could sometimes reach flood notification level 1, as reported by the responsible water management authorities. That could mean “smaller proliferations in places”. Reporting level 2 is also possible on the Isar in the Munich area, so agricultural and forestry areas could be flooded – there could also be slight traffic obstructions on main roads and municipal roads.

The German Weather Service (DWD) expects longer-lasting precipitation for Friday in the south of Bavaria and in the Upper Palatinate and, especially near the Alps, heavy rain in some cases. Also on Saturday, showers and thunderstorms are expected from the north-west, especially in the afternoon.
