For the second time in a short space of time, people in Schwanau, Baden, were called upon to go to the polls. In the last election, a candidate who had already withdrawn from the race won.

Schwanau (dpa / lsw) – 37-year-old Marco Gutmann is the new mayor of the Baden municipality of Schwanau in the Ortenau district. He got 56.57 percent of the votes on Sunday. 5728 people were eligible to vote. Voter turnout was 54.66 percent. There were ten candidates.

Alexander Schindler (SPD), who was elected in May, did not accept the election for health reasons. The election of the mayor of the municipality in the district of Ortenaukreis therefore had to be completely re-tendered.
