After the death of a 27-year-old in an apartment in Berlin, an arrest warrant was issued against her nurse. A spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor said the 45-year-old was being investigated for bodily harm resulting in death. The woman is in custody. She was arrested on Monday in Wolgast in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

A day earlier, the 27-year-old in need of care was found dead in her Berlin apartment. She choked on porridge, according to prosecutors, who found the body to be autopsied.

According to the spokesman for the authorities, the young woman was found by her parents in the apartment in Prenzlauer Berg. She was housed there for about a week and should have been brought back for the weekend. When this did not happen, the parents went to the nurse’s apartment last Sunday – and found the body.

It was initially unclear why the 45-year-old was in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania – whether she fled after the death of the 27-year-old. A homicide detective is investigating the case. The spokesman did not provide any information as to whether the accused said anything about the allegations.
