The Tesla Model S and Model X plaid models have been available in the home market of the USA for years, but the speedy electric models have so far given Europe a wide berth. Because their demand in the USA is decreasing and everything in Europe is now about the two smaller versions Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, the sluggish sales of the two large vehicles should now get a new boost with the Plaid versions. Orders can be placed immediately and the first customers from Europe are to receive delivery of the particularly powerful top versions as early as November and December.

In addition to optical and technical details inside and out, the Model S and Model X Plaid models offer an improved chassis, new electronic modules and a significant increase in performance. The Tesla Model S Plaid is powered by three electric motors (one in the front / two in the rear) that together produce 750 kW / 1,020 hp. From a standing start, the four-door car, which costs at least 137,990 euros, accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds and has a top speed of 322 km/h. In view of the driving performance, the maximum range of up to 600 kilometers should cause headaches, especially for the main competitors, the Porsche Taycan and Audi E-Tron GT. These are in similar price ranges, but have a significant performance deficit and a lower range. The situation is similar with the Mercedes EQE / EQS and the new BMW i7. In the league over 1,000 hp, there will soon only be the Rivian as a real competitor from the electrical warehouse.

The larger family van of the Tesla Model X Plaid also offers the same drive concept of three electric motors with carbon-coated high-performance rotors. Its 750 kW / 1,020 hp accelerate the colossus with the rear gullwing doors from a standing start to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and, if required, make it up to 262 km/h fast. However, the maximum range of over 520 kilometers with one battery charge must be worth at least 140,990 euros.
