Malchow (dpa / mv) – Eight people were injured in accidents on Autobahn 19 not far from Malchow (Mecklenburg Lake District). As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, around noon a car with a caravan in the north direction skidded and crashed into a guardrail. Two people were injured.
A traffic jam formed at the accident site in the direction of Rostock. A 24-year-old driver then reportedly overlooked the end of the traffic jam at the Malchow exit. The driver drove his car at high speed into a stopping car, which in turn rammed and damaged two other vehicles in front of it.
Two children were seriously injured. They were taken to a clinic by helicopter. In addition, four adults from the vehicles involved were injured and were taken to hospital by ambulance. The freeway was closed for several hours. Further details on the course of the accident and those involved are not yet available, the police said.
