Halle (dpa/sa) – In Saxony-Anhalt’s sewage treatment plants, almost as much electricity was generated last year with the sewage gas obtained there as in 2020. The surveyed plants generated a total of 32.2 million kilowatt hours of electricity, said the State Office for Statistics Tuesday in Halle with In the previous year it was 32.3 million kilowatt hours. The amount has stagnated for about four years.
Almost the entire amount (31.6 million kilowatt hours) of sewage gas electricity was used directly in the sewage treatment plants, for example to operate pumping stations. The small remainder was fed into the public grid.
