Augsburg (dpa / lby) – Because she debited almost 38,000 euros as a deposit and took the money out of the cash register, a cashier in Augsburg was convicted of breach of trust on Monday. The 21-year-old had to repay more than 32,000 euros and work through the crime during talks, said a spokesman for the Augsburg District Court. Part of the stolen money had previously been secured from the young mother. The court also made it a requirement that she take part in a mother-child group for several months and maintain contact with a child protection agency.

According to the court spokesman, the defendant confessed to having typed in incorrect amounts for deposit fees several times between May and August 2021 in a shop in Bobingen (Augsburg district) and having taken the money out of the till for herself. She also acted out of financial need. The 21-year-old was sentenced according to the rules of juvenile criminal law.
