Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) – The Frankfurt Zoo is happy about the offspring of the seals. As the zoo announced on Monday, the Howler was born on Saturday without any complications. The gender of the seal is currently unknown. The 16-year-old mother Lilly came pregnant from the Rostock zoo in May.

Common seals from the dog seal family are found in Central Europe and all northern temperate seas. Shortly after birth, the young animals can already swim, but they are not fully grown until they are five to six years old. A total of five seals now live in Frankfurt Zoo.
