Iserlohn (dpa/lnw) – The Iserlohn Roosters will have to do without Canadian striker Brent Aubin in the coming season in the German Ice Hockey League. After two seasons in the Sauerland region, the 36-year-old, long-time player from Wolfsburg, is moving on to France, where he would like to end his career. The Roosters announced this on Monday. The contract with Aubin, who played in Germany for EHC Munich, the Grizzlies Wolfsburg and Iserlohn for a total of ten years, was terminated accordingly.
Colin Smith, who comes from Swiss second division club EHC Olten, takes Aubin’s place in attack. The 29-year-old Canadian has both Canadian and German citizenship and has already played for the Berliner Eisbären, Kölner Haie and ERC Ingolstadt in the DEL.
