Found alive 3,000 kilometers from her home. A 15-year-old American teenager, spotted online by a child criminal, was kidnapped on August 3, 2022, before being found a few days later, 3,000 kilometers from her home, by the FBI. The young girl, originally from Arizona, was saved from the hands of her executioner who had taken her to Virginia, reports ABC15, which relays court records from this eastern American state. The Feds were able to find the teenager by following the trail of… her Nintendo Switch.

According to ABC15, it was a friend of the teenager who gave the alert. A few days after the kidnapping, she spotted the girl online on her Nintendo account through her game console. She then quickly alerted the authorities, who traced the vein and quickly located the IP address. The FBI discovered that the victim had been contacted online by Ethan R., a 28-year-old child molester, who forcibly took her across the country in an attempt to abuse her.

The young girl was then rescued eleven days after her abduction and was able to find her relatives in Arizona. The police recalled that it was easy to locate a missing person using their phone, iPad, connected watch or any other device connected to a wi-fi or satellite connection.

Ethan R. has since been charged with child pornography and abduction of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison last April.
