Ramsau (dpa / lby) – A 58-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident on the German Alpine Road near Ramsau. His wife of the same age was critically injured as a pillion, as the Bavarian Red Cross announced on Thursday evening. In the morning, the biker strayed off the road to the right in a long left-hand bend between Taubensee and Ramsau. He drove across a meadow where the motorcycle took off, flew a few meters through the air and finally crashed into the concrete wall of an underpass.

First responders found the unconscious casualties, provided first aid and made an emergency call, it said. Emergency doctors and paramedics could no longer save the 58-year-old. It was still unclear why he left the federal road in the Berchtesgadener Land district with his motorcycle.
