The left-wing faction in the Brandenburg state parliament is committed to significant investments in local public transport and cheap tickets. “We can see from the millions of 9-euro tickets sold that local public transport is actually an alternative,” said parliamentary group leader Sebastian Walter of the German Press Agency. “And that people who didn’t take the train or bus before are now using trains and buses. And that people can now go on excursions that they couldn’t afford before.”
