According to the Ukrainian military, the US-supplied HIMARS multiple rocket launchers are effective in fighting the Russian invaders. According to this, the system succeeds in hitting 50 warehouses in which the Kremlin’s troops store ammunition.

According to Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, Ukrainian troops have used US precision missiles to destroy 50 Russian ammunition depots. “This breaks their supply chains and deprives them of their ability to actively fight and take our forces under heavy artillery fire,” Resnikov said on television. This proves the growing influence of the US-supplied HIMARS mobile multiple rocket launchers on the fighting.

The US think tank Institute for the Study of War also certified the missile systems’ successes during operations by Ukrainian troops. Accordingly, Ukraine succeeded in striking both Russian military logistics and several checkpoints.

The think tank quoted from a Russian Telegram channel called “Moscow Calling,” which describes the delivery of HIMARS as a crucial turning point in the war. While other weapon systems supplied by Western countries, such as the Javelin anti-tank guided missile or the Stinger anti-aircraft missile, had little effect in the fight against the Kremlin’s troops, according to this channel, the rocket launcher attacks are said to have had a devastating effect on the Russian offensive.

The information from the channel coincides with several reports from Western defense circles that Russian troops are being forced to develop various tactics to counter HIMARS-launched missiles on the battlefield. These include, for example, camouflage measures or the constant relocation of military equipment. This is said to have led to the Russian troops being able to build fewer and fewer barriers with their artillery over time. Data from the Fire Information for Resource Management of the NASA space agency is cited as evidence, which shows a constant decrease in heat anomalies caused by the use of artillery in the Donbass.

Just a few days ago, the United States approved additional military aid for Ukraine worth 270 million dollars (265 million euros). According to the US Department of Defense, four more HIMARS rocket launchers, up to 580 Phoenix Ghosts drones and 36,000 rounds of artillery ammunition are to be delivered. The new pack also includes four vehicles that can be used as command posts. This brings the number of HIMARS rocket launchers sent to Ukraine to 20.
