Jessen (dpa/sa) – A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon during mowing work in a rye field in Jessen (Wittenberg district). A police spokesman said on Thursday that it is still unclear why the approximately eleven hectare area caught fire. Nobody was injured in the fire. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire. The resulting property damage is at least 25,000 euros, said the spokesman.
