Meat and baked goods, but also chemical raw materials are among the country’s top exports.
Halle (dpa/sa) – Since the beginning of the year, Saxony-Anhalt’s economy has sent about a third more goods and raw materials abroad than in the same period last year. As the State Statistical Office of the German Press Agency reported, according to the first provisional figures, exports worth around 9.8 billion euros were made in the first half of the year. Among them were mainly products from the food industry such as meat and baked goods, as a spokeswoman said. But chemical raw materials and products from one of the country’s most important branches of industry also went abroad. In the first half of 2021, the export volume was around 9.2 billion euros.
At the same time, according to preliminary figures, goods worth 9.8 billion euros have been imported to Saxony-Anhalt since the beginning of 2022.
