Ellenberg (dpa / lsw) – Parts of a roller coaster fell from a truck onto the Autobahn 7 near Ellenberg (Ostalbkreis) and paralyzed traffic. The truck crashed into the central barrier shortly after the Virngrund tunnel in the direction of Würzburg early on Thursday morning as a result of a tire burst. It tipped over and the loaded metal parts spread in both directions on the freeway. The driver suffered minor injuries, a police spokesman said.
The A7 in the direction of Ulm was released again in the morning, and an eleven-kilometer traffic jam formed. The direction of travel to Würzburg was initially blocked due to the clean-up work. According to initial estimates, the police are assuming a high level of property damage.
