Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister of Justice Franziska Weidinger wants to increase the number of junior staff for the prison system. “We will continue to increase the number of prison staff. We want to increase the number of trainees in the prison service,” said the CDU politician at a ceremony for graduates on Wednesday in Magdeburg. “In the coming year, the hiring of up to 40 candidates for the prison service is planned.”
According to the Ministry of Justice, a total of 26 young people completed their two-year training course in the general prison service this summer. The graduates are to be taken on as civil servants on probation from August. They are used in prisons across the country. 19 men and women will start their training in August.
