Würselen (dpa/lnw) – A 62-year-old flight instructor died when a small plane crashed in Würselen near Aachen. His 21-year-old student suffered serious injuries in the accident on Saturday afternoon, according to the police in Aachen. The small plane from a flight school and a helicopter were approaching Merzbrück Airport at the same time. During the evasive maneuver, the plane crashed. The 21-year-old was taken to a hospital.
In order to clarify the exact cause of the accident, the police consulted the Federal Office for Aircraft Accident Investigation. The airport has been closed for the time being.
