“His security slapped me. Britney Spears filed a handrail on Thursday after being slapped by a bodyguard for French basketball talent Victor Wembanyama. The pop star, who made headlines after spending 13 years under the guardianship of her father, recounted the incident in detail on her Instagram account. The athlete confirmed his version of the facts.
The scene took place Wednesday evening, in Las Vegas, within the ARIA hotel. The singer was heading to the restaurant when she ran into Victor Wembanyama, of whom she is a fan, according to TMZ. “I recognized an athlete in my hotel as I was going to dinner. I then went to the restaurant in another hotel and saw him again. I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success. As there was a lot of noise, I tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention,” Britney Spears shared on social media. “His security then slapped me without looking back, in front of a crowd of people,” she describes. The blow “almost knocked me down and ripped my glasses off”.

“I’m bombarded by people all the time. […] My security team didn’t hit any of them,” the American singer said, insisting that she “just tapped him on the shoulder.”
“I didn’t watch, I just kept walking to get dinner and have a good night out,” he added, noting that San Antonio Spurs security “briefed him” to he does not stop in order to avoid “causing a crowd”.
