Five years ago, fisticuffs broke out on the set of the film “City of Lies”. Johnny Depp allegedly hits a co-worker over a change in shooting schedule. Now the parties are said to have reached an out-of-court settlement.

Johnny Depp is said to have settled out of court with an ex-employee on the “City of Lies” film set. That reports “The Hollywood Reporter”. According to a settlement agreement filed last Monday, Depp is expected to comply with unspecified terms of the settlement by the end of August. Details of the out-of-court settlement are not known. Unit manager Greg “Rocky” Brooks sued the actor in 2018, alleging that Depp assaulted him on set.

As the US portal “TMZ” reported at the time, the production manager stated that Depp “hit him twice in the ribs” in Los Angeles in 2017 after previously telling the actor that the shooting schedule had to be changed. Depp is said to have said angrily: “Who the hell are you? You have no right to tell me what to do.” Then there were the blows. Rocky didn’t respond. Depp then asked him: “I’ll give you $ 100,000 if you hit me in the face now,” which didn’t happen. Johnny Depp played police officer Russell Poole in the film, who investigates the unsolved murder of rapper Notorious B.I.G. examined in March 1997.

The case was supposed to go to court at the end of July. Camille Vasquez is said to have represented Depp. She was part of his legal team in the defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard. The jury found Amber Heard guilty of defamation in the June trial.

The actor sued her for $50 million for a post she published in the Washington Post in 2018. In it, she claimed to be a victim of domestic violence. She did not mention her ex-husband by name. Depp nevertheless claimed the post ruined his career, damaged his reputation and cost him a lot of money. The punitive damages are $10.35 million. Heard was also awarded $2 million in damages for her counterclaims against Depp.
