Hemer (dpa / lnw) – After the house collapse with one fatality in Hemer (Märkischer Kreis), the city’s community foundation (“If it’s burning in life”) set up a donation account for those affected by the explosion. This was announced by the mayor of Hemer, Christian Schweitzer, on social media on Saturday. “The community foundation would like to support both the victims and the affected neighbors and will contact them at short notice. Affected families can also contact the foundation (vorstand@wib-hemer.de) at the weekend,” it said.
On Friday evening, a residential building in Hemer near Iserlohn in Sauerland was completely destroyed by a gas explosion. A 57-year-old resident could only be rescued dead from the rubble of the house on Saturday morning. Two people, a 32-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, were seriously injured by the emergency services on Saturday night. They were in mortal danger. Two other residents of the house were slightly injured. A total of eight people lived in the building who have now lost their homes.
