Schlüsselfeld (dpa/lby) – Within two days, cable thieves struck twice at a construction site and stole a total of more than half a kilometer of copper cable. During the night from Thursday to Friday, strangers stole a piece about 200 meters long at the construction site near Schlüsselfeld (Bamberg district), the police said on Saturday. They would have unfastened the attached cables, stripped the cable’s sheathing, and left them behind. According to the police, the copper captured on Friday alone is worth around 13,000 euros. A 350 meter long power cable had already been stolen on the same construction site during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.
