Erfurt (dpa/th) – The red-red-green government factions have agreed with the opposition CDU on a compromise in the wind dispute. Accordingly, wind priority areas with distances of less than 1000 meters can still be specified in the regional plans, the parliamentary groups announced on Friday. According to the CDU, the 1000 meter distance between wind turbines and residential buildings should only remain if these plans are declared void by a court.
The CDU parliamentary group had stuck to the demand for a distance of 1000 meters between wind turbines and residential buildings and demanded a corresponding change in the building code. The distance regulation almost caused an uproar in the state parliament because the CDU initiative was supported by the AfD parliamentary group and the AfD would have had a significant influence on the decision. The red-red-green factions and the CDU now want to submit a joint motion for the next state parliament session next week.
