A man admitted to the murder of a retired priest during an attack at a hospital.
Oliver Kemp, 82-year-old Oliver from Stone in Staffordshire, died nearly a week after being injured at County Hospital in Stafford last February 17, police said.
Joseph David Phillips pleaded guilty at Stafford Crown Court to manslaughter based on diminished responsibility.
The sentence for the 33-year-old Stafford man is set for 6 September.
Phillips, Riverside Mews had previously denied the murder charge but admitted manslaughter at court on Thursday.
Det Ch Insp Cheryl Hannan, Staffordshire force commander, said that “this is a very sad case.”
