A mother and her stepfather were charged with murdering a 10-month old baby.
Derbyshire Police reported that emergency services were called when Jacob Crouch became “critically ill” in a Linton house, near Swadlincote on the morning 30 December 2020.
Jacob was declared dead on the spot.
Gemma Barton was his mother and Craig Crouch was his stepfather. They were both arrested on January 5, 2021, and bailed before being indicted on Wednesday.
Ms Barton (32 years old), from Heanor and Mr Crouch (38 years old), from Linton are currently in custody. They will be appearing at the Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court later.
