Vilseck (dpa / lby) – During mowing work, sparks together with the drought caused three fires in several fields in the Amberg-Sulzbach district. The fire happened in Vilseck, the police said. The fire spread to two other fields and caused damage of between 3,000 and 4,000 euros over an area of ??around 10,000 square meters.
In Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate, too, the police suspect flying sparks from a combine harvester as the cause of the fire in a field. The field burned down over a length of 200 meters and a width of 50 meters. The resulting damage amounts to around 3000 euros.
A technical defect in a press machine for straw bales is suspected to be the cause of a fire in a field in Sulzbach-Rosenberg, the police said. About 1.5 hectares burned down. The exact extent of the damage caused was not initially known. Nobody was injured in the fires.
