The Brevent cable car gives you a spectacular view of Mont Blanc, while still in the Mont Blanc mountain massif. To climb to 2525m, take the Planpraz cablecar, then the Brevent cablecar. Brevent is a great place to enjoy the views and also allows you to hike in the summer to the Aiguillette des Houches refuge or Bel-Lachat refuge.
The cost of the Brevent cable car is lower than that of the Aiguille du Midi and it is also more affordable. This makes it a great alternative for those with tight budgets. For an adult, the cost of the round trip is EUR35.50 and for children it’s EUR30.20. For EUR110.10, a family rate is offered.
La Meije, located in the Ecrins mountain range, is a must-see for mountain lovers. A cable car takes you up to the Grand Pic de La Meije at 3983m above sea level. The cable car can take you to 3200m, near the Girose glacier, in 40 minutes. The ice cave is carved under the glacier every two years. You can walk to Puy Vachier lake (at 2400m) or down into the valley in about 2 hours or 3 hours depending on which route you choose.
