Oschersleben (dpa/sa) – A US aircraft bomb from the Second World War was found and defused in an industrial area in Oschersleben (Börde district). A company made the discovery during a planned search for ammunition and other explosive ordnance, the police said on Friday. A security area was created around the 250-kilogram bomb. Markets, companies and commercial properties within a radius of 500 meters were cleared, and federal highway 246 was closed for around half an hour during the defusing. The explosive ordnance disposal service was able to remove the detonator and render the bomb harmless.
