Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) – The everyday helper program to support day care centers in North Rhine-Westphalia during the corona pandemic can be continued until the end of the year. The budget and finance committee of the state parliament released 102 million euros for this on Thursday, said the family policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group, Jens Kamieth. “The current summer wave with its high number of infections shows us that Corona is not coming to an end even in the third year.” The daycare workers are “an important and noticeable relief” for the educational staff during the pandemic.
The day-care center helpers support the specialist staff with many infection control measures. With the opportunity for further qualification, the program with state funds also offers interested parties an alternative way into the educator profession.
