Dresden (dpa/sn) – The operators of day-care centers in Saxony are desperately looking for Ukrainian educators to look after children from refugee families. As the Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday in Dresden, an electronic portal has been set up for this purpose. Ukrainian war refugees who have completed teacher training can register there. “If the qualification and language level meet the requirements, the interested parties will receive a confirmation by e-mail at short notice,” it said. This allows the skilled workers to apply to a day-care provider and work as an assistant for a limited period of one year. According to the ministry, around 1,300 Ukrainian children were cared for in daycare centers in Saxony in May.
