Munich (dpa / lby) – According to the Bavarian State Sports Association, the special funding program for sports facility construction is heavily used. As the BLSV announced on Tuesday, since the start of the program in July 2019, over 2,300 applications for funding from the Free State with a total volume of 310 million euros have been processed via the BLSV. The special funding program brings higher grants for sports and rifle clubs in communities with low tax capacity.
“We have great respect for the great commitment of the people involved in the sports clubs and support them as best we can through the sports facility construction department. The special program for the club’s own sports facility construction in structurally weak regions with its additional financial resources supports our clubs in the structurally weak Bavarian regions decisively,” said the President of the BLSV, Jörg Ammon.
Since the 2019/2020 double budget, the Free State has been supporting the construction of sports facilities in financially weaker municipalities in Bavaria with an additional ten million euros annually.
